Since last Monday, the Palm Beach County Convention Center has been under strict security measures in anticipation of the election night vigil party for former President Donald Trump, the current Republican candidate for the White House.
The venue is expected to host thousands of supporters, donors, and others waiting for the election results that will determine the future of the United States for the next four years.
Media outlets are also invited to this event, which could extend well into the night, just a few miles north of Mar-A-Lago, the luxurious residence of the mogul.
Trump voted early this Tuesday in Palm Beach, accompanied by his wife, Melania. There, he told those present that he was confident about the results this evening.
"We ran a great campaign. I believe this was probably the best of the three. We did very well in the first one, even better in the second, but then something happened. I would say this is the best campaign we have done," he stated.
The election results may take time to be revealed. It's difficult to know when and at what time the results will be available, so the U.S. press has chosen to note the closing of polling places in the swing states for reference.
Nonetheless, they take for granted that the vote counting may take some time. In any case, a new law requires that a winner of the elections be determined by December 11.
Polls indicate a close race between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris at the national level and in the seven battleground states that will determine the election.
