Cuban-American congressmen Mario Díaz-Balart and Carlos Giménez retained their seats in the United States Congress.

Mario Díaz-Balart, the Republican candidate for District 26 and the longest-serving member in Congress, received 70.6% of voter support, surpassing the Democrat Joey David Atkins, a lawyer and sports agent, who garnered 29.4% of the votes.

His district includes parts of Miami, Doral, Hialeah, and Miami Lakes, and extends into Collier County.

"It is an honor for me to once again represent District 26 of the Florida Congress," wrote Díaz-Balart from his account on X.

"In the 119th Congress, I will continue to advocate for responsible and conservative policies that save taxpayer money, support small businesses, honor our brave men and women in the military and law enforcement, pay tribute to our veterans, promote energy independence, secure our borders, and protect our national security interests," promised the re-elected congressman.

Carlos Giménez won the Republican primary in District 28 with 64.4% of the votes, while his opponent, Democrat Phil Ehr, garnered 35.6%.

District 28 encompasses parts of the southern area of Miami-Dade County and Monroe County.

“It is an honor to have been re-elected with over 65% of the votes! Thank you, Miami and the Florida Keys!” were the words shared by Giménez on X.

Also, Republican representative María Elvira Salazar was reelected on November 5 to the U.S. House of Representatives.

The Cuban-American will continue to represent District 27 of Florida, which includes areas such as Miami, Key Biscayne, Little Havana, Coral Gables, Kendall, and Cutler Bay.

"Thank you to the voters of Florida's 27th district for sending me to DC for a third term. I will continue to be your voice and fight for you!" he wrote to his constituents on X.
