Cuban-American congressmen from South Florida expressed their solidarity with former President Donald Trump, who was injured in a shooting during his campaign rally this Saturday in Pennsylvania.

"Dios protegió al presidente Trump," expressed Senator Marco Rubio on his X account, who is among Trump's candidates for vice president if he wins the November elections.

In a later post, she added that she was "praying for President Trump and all the attendees at today's rally in Pennsylvania."

On her part, María Elvira Salazar stated on her social media that she is monitoring the "safety and well-being" of the Republican. "God bless President Trump at this time!", she pointed out.

At the same time, Mario Diaz-Balart stated that "whoever did this should be fully prosecuted," apparently unaware that the shooter was brought down by the Secret Service.

During Trump's rally, several shots were heard, amid which the candidate put his hands to his right ear, from which a trickle of blood began to flow.

Immediately, the Republican leader was evacuated and taken to a hospital, details of which have not been disclosed.

According to last-minute information, the shooter - who was on a nearby roof - was killed by a sniper and another person is reported to have died in this incident.
