Meteorologist Raydel Ruisanchez warned on Monday about the arrival of a cold front that will affect Cuba in the coming days, bringing rainfall, thunderstorms, and a significant drop in temperatures.

According to the information shared on Facebook, a prefrontal band is expected to arrive on Wednesday, which will increase the occurrence of rain showers and storms in the western region.

This system will gradually advance to the rest of the country, bringing intense rainfall to more regions.

Starting Thursday, a mass of cold, dry air will begin to move over the island, resulting in unusually low temperatures for this season.

By the end of the week, the cold will become more apparent, with colder nights and early mornings, marking the beginning of winter days in Cuba.

Ruisanchez noted that it's time to take out the coats and prepare for a cool and dry weekend.

In a comment, the meteorologist stated that "a dry and cold winter is expected."

Finally, he pointed out that last weekend temperatures were recorded as "being quite cold in inland areas of the country, with values close to 13°C."

In February, Cuba set a historical record for the lowest temperature, reaching 5 degrees Celsius in the town of Bainoa, located in the province of Mayabeque.
