They left their home to live in an RV: A Cuban shares her experience on social media

"If someone wants something with all their heart, they will do everything to achieve it."

"Hello, hello, I can't believe it's already been 4 months living in this RV with my daughters and my husband." This is how the video from @familia_v.i.p begins, in which a Cuban mom shares how she made her dream of leaving her home and moving with her family into a recreational vehicle a reality.

Her story, shared on TikTok, has captivated thousands and has become an inspiration for those seeking a different lifestyle.

In the video, the creator shares that it all started when she saw another family living in an RV on TikTok. “When I showed it to my husband, the first thing he said was ‘that’s my dream,’ so I started looking into everything to make it a reality.” The first step was to secure a source of income that would allow them to work from anywhere. She was already creating content for brands on social media but decided to focus on securing more business to fund the adventure.

A visit to an RV dealership changed their lives. "We were just going to look, but we left with approval to finance it. I don't know if it was fate, but everything fell into place so easily," they recount. They then put their house up for rent, cleared out what they had accumulated over more than 12 years, and enrolled their daughters in a virtual school so they could study from anywhere. "That's why I believe that if someone really wants something, they will do everything to achieve it," they reflect.

The video, which has already garnered over 5,000 likes, has sparked a flurry of questions and comments on TikTok. Many users sought practical advice, asking, “How do you find places to park the RV?” and “What internet do you use to work while traveling?” Others shared their dreams: “That’s my dream too; I’m fighting to make it happen” and “I lived in one for years; if I could, I would do it again.” However, there were also some criticisms, including a comment from one user who asked, “Don’t you think your daughters are missing out on social life?”

For this Cuban mom, living in an RV is an opportunity to explore new places while working and spending time with her family. She kindly answers questions, explaining how they find campsites, manage financing, and organize their life on the move. Her story shows that with effort, planning, and determination, it is possible to achieve the greatest dreams.
