The University of Camagüey "Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz" announced the suspension of teaching activities due to the electric energy crisis currently affecting the country.
On its Facebook page, the study center of the central province informed the university community that the teaching process would continue only until this Thursday at noon.
"The classes will resume next Monday, December 9," the note specifies.
Similarly, the classes of the Course by Encounter held at the central headquarters and at various municipal university centers are suspended over the weekend.
For his part, the official journalist Lázaro Manuel Alonso clarified the public's doubts regarding the resumption of teaching activities in the country, once the service was restored following the total disconnection of the National Electric System (SEN) on Wednesday morning.
According to what was said, the Ministry of Education reported that decisions will be made at the provincial level rather than nationally.
"However, with the electrical system having been restored last night, there should be no issues for the class to continue today. This is just my personal assessment," he emphasized.
On Wednesday, the Cuban government suspended all educational activities as well as non-essential work across the country due to a widespread blackout that began early in the morning.
