A group of ten Cuban citizens, who were recently intercepted off the coast of Florida after a dangerous journey in a precarious boat, are now facing deportation proceedings, according to authorities in the United States.

Jeffrey Dinise, Chief Agent of the U.S. Border Patrol for the Miami Sector, reported on the case through an official statement on his X social media account.

Dinise wrote: “Earlier today, U.S. Border Patrol agents, along with partner agencies, responded to a landing of migrants at Smathers Beach and found 10 Cuban migrants who arrived in a homemade boat. The migrants will be processed for deportation proceedings.”
