The Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) invested more than one million pesos in fiber optics in the municipality of Trinidad, an action that benefited the tourist facilities of the Ancón Peninsula.

The marketing manager of ETECSA, Gustavo López Cruz, explained to Radio Sanctispiritus at what stage the fiber optic investment is in the town. In this sense, he noted that in 2015 fiber optic services were installed "to the Maria Aguilar area and it is planned for the second half of 2016 to cover the end of the Peninsula to the Ancón hotel."

With these plans all telecommunications demands in the area would be guaranteed. In fact, the installation of Wifi services was launched in the Ancón, Trialmar, and Costa Sur hotels. Regarding the municipal seat, "Iberostar, La Ronda and Las Cuevas" also have wireless connection services, explained López Cruz.

Regarding the city of Sancti Spiritus, the hotel spaces of Rancho Tuey and Los Laureles also have Wi-Fi service.
