A new accident in the capital ends with at least one fatality. The accident, which took place on Monumental Road, involved a modern car and a motorcycle.

The news has been announced by the official Cubadebate, in a note titledOutrageousWell, "Apparently, the motorcycle and its two passengers were part of the lively and public atmosphere of motorcycle races that take place on this important capital road, especially in the La Palma Dam area."

The events occurred last Sunday afternoon

In the opinion article, signed by the director Randy Alonso himself, no further details of the accident or the people involved are given; However, the usual practice of motorcycle racing in that area is reported.

“On that and other Sundays it is possible to come across groups of motorcycles along the Monumental that are heading towards or coming from the area of the aforementioned dam, where, according to the local residents, a murky atmosphere of racing and betting is created, accompanied by hustle and bustle and alcohol,” adds Alonso, who in turn wonders if “Should such ravings be allowed? Do others have to pay with their lives or their cars for the irresponsibility of this handful of individuals?”, at the same time that he trusts that there is no “impunity for this serious social indiscipline.”

However, the Vía Monumental is not the only stage where these competitions that bring together drivers and the public take place. In thenear the Calvario Bridge, in the Eight Ways and inrural areas of the country Events of this same nature take place where cars and motorcycles participate.
