HeCuban Daniel Llorente Miranda, who became famous on May 1, 2017 forwaving an American flag during the traditional parade in the Plaza de la Revolución, was released last Friday, thus ending hisconfinement in the Psychiatric Hospital of Havana, the site reportedCubanet.

After his protest, "the man with the flag" was detained for almost a month at 100 and Aldabó, and from there he was transferred to the Giralt ward of the Psychiatric Center, where he remained for 11 months.

According to Llorente, the doctor who was treating him announced that he would be released, but warned him that he could not call anyone on the phone because those who were taking him were State Security officers.

The same agents who locked him up a year ago now put him in a car with a private license plate and took him to the corner of his house.

His son Eliecer Llorente expressed that in the hospitalIt was already said that they were going to release him. However, he thought they would let him know first when that happened.

His father says that no one gave him any documents; Only the doctor gave her a paper to give to her department head, but she kept it in the hospital.

“They didn't even let me read it, but they told me it was so I wouldn't have problems with the head of the sector. I don't know what problem. "I am not sanctioned nor do I believe that the Police have anything to do with me, because I am an opponent of the regime and the Police serve criminals," he expressed.

Llorente stated that he will demand from the authorities the flag that was taken from him during his protest.
