The legendary Cuban orchestraFormell and Los Van Van They are celebrating 50 years of artistic life. The group, founded by the Cuban musician Juan Formell on December 4, 1969, commemorates the date with the recording of a video clip to the rhythm of his famous songHavana yes.
The audiovisual material, with which they will also celebrate the 500 years of Havana, is being filmed in the capital under the direction of Cuban director Alejandro Varela and has the participation of the members of the band currently led bySamuel Formell, son of the creator of Van Van.
"With the theme Havana si and the direction of the young and talented Alejandro Varela, we began filming the new video clip where Formell and Los Van Van pay tribute to the 500th Anniversary of the founding of Havana," they explained through the official website of Facebook along with the publication of several images that are part of the audiovisual work process.
Samuel Formell, the members of his orchestra and some present, paused during the filming of the video to sing congratulations to Los Van Van in front of a guitar-shaped birthday cake. The artists took advantage of the occasion to thank Juan Formell for his great cultural legacy.

In addition to the video clip, Los Van Van have planned a great dance concert to celebrate the band's 50 years and to remember some of the most important songs that have been part of the life of "El tren de la salsa." The event will be next Saturday, December 7, at the La Herradura facility in the Boyeros municipality of the capital.
