Feb 14 (Reuters) - The American Spanish-language television networkUnivision Communications Inc is in talks to be sold to a consortium of investors, he toldReuters a source familiar with the matter.
The consortium led by former Viacom CFO Wade Davis and investment firm Searchlight Capital Partners are leading efforts to acquire the TV company after submitting the highest bid at an auction.
The deal could value the chain at between $8 billion and $10 billion, the source said, adding that there was no certainty a deal would be reached.
The newspaperThe Wall Street Journal first reported news about the talks.
In early 2019, the company said it is analyzing a possible sale and had hired advisors.
Davis did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment, while Searchlight Capital Partners and Univision declined to comment.
