Nine students were expelled from the "Luis Urquiza Jorge" Vocational Pre-University Institute of Exact Sciences (IPVCE), in the city of Las Tunas, forconsume marijuana at school.

"It all started because a mother took her son's cell phone and saw the message about what they were doing and left with her son and everything for the PNR Unit. And that's where the problem began," he toldCuba Time a source close to one of the expelled students, who requested anonymity.
The sanctioned adolescents are residents of different municipalities in the province of Las Tunas andThey are between 15 and 17 years old. They were on the scholarship, since in that eastern area the course has continued in person due to the low incidence of the coronavirus.
"Firstthere were five boys and three girls, but when they started talking they were already on 17," says the anonymous source.
However, the director of the IPVCE only acknowledged nine expulsions in the telephone conversation with the aforementioned media: "There are nine children, and they already have their measurements, they are already without any problem, they have already been analyzed."
The director also explained that everyonethe students involved had been assigned to study at polytechnics.
"The mother does nothing but cry," the source revealed about the disciplinary measure, which will make it difficult for them to study a university degree, since in technology universities they do not grant the right to apply for degrees through the normal route, but rather through a competition. an option with fewer possibilities and more competitive.

Among the indisciplines considered very serious in Cuba and that lead to separation from the study center, included in article 24 of Resolution No. 357 of 2015, are "procuring, carrying, consuming and/or encouraging the consumption of alcoholic beverages, narcotic drugs , psychotropic substances or other substances with similar effects in the areas of the center or outside it, and during the transportation of the pass in the case of internal centers."
