Los Van Van begin their European tour: "50 years of Songo"

“VanVaneros from Europe, Los Van Van have arrived... Tomorrow first concert in Madrid... We are waiting for you,” the orchestra's promotional page shared on Facebook along with photos and videos of the musicians upon their arrival in Spain.

The “Los Van Van de Cuba” tour. 50 years of Songo” will begin this Friday at the Sala La Cantera in the Spanish capital.

The group's tour will continue through other cities in Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, England, Germany and Belgium.

Los Van Van is scheduled to present on July 29 at the 2022 Tempo Latino Festival in Gascogne, the largest European festival of Latin and Afro-Cuban music, salsa, Latin jazz and hip-hop that is held every year.

This performance will also have the participation ofAlexander Abreu, according to the program released by the group.

Until next August 14, fans of the Cuban orchestra in Europe will be able to enjoy the most danced songs by Los Van Van.

Before starting their trip, the musical group was in Lima, Peru, together with Havana D'Primera, they shared on FacebookSamuel Formell, leader of the orchestra and son of its founderJuan Formell.

Outside the Charles Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines, south Florida, dozens of exiles gathered and protested against the concert with slogans, banners and flags.

Expressions like "traitors", "communists", "Díaz-Canel singao!", "Patria y Vida!" "Long live Cuba Libre!" or "Go to Cuba!" were heard among the shouts of all those who opposed the presentation.
