The Cuban police arrested the husband ofAmelia Calzadilla after the young woman, mother of three children, asked for the release of political prisoners on the island.

Calzadilla, who has become known for his brave Facebook posts where he analyzes the Cuban reality, reported in his profile that he was on his way to the 4th Unit of Cerro, where the authorities had detained his partner,Tony Diaz.

"My husband is detained for no known reason because no one explained the reason to him. The last time we spoke they told him that there was a problem with my in-laws' car and he had to testify. Obviously I am not going to leave him alone and for that reason I am going to there," he said.

He later assured that his partner is "a calm man and has no pending cases or fines of any kind."

This arbitrary arrest occurs one day after Calzadilla made a live broadcast in which he launched himself into deep waters of issues related to the freedom of the 11J prisoners, thepolitical change on the island, and advocated for the unity of Cubans within the country to make a better nation possible.

From the Paseo del Prado in Havana, the woman asked not to confuse any moreGovernment and Party with Homeland, because "the Homeland is each one of us with our differences, with our capabilities and with our difficulties as well."

He also pointed out that in Cuba "we don't need a leader," because "we don't need one. What we need is to fill ourselves with indignation," he stressed in his words.

He also recalled that two years ago many people took to the streets on July 11 because "they had already lost hope, because they could no longer handle the frustration. They came out because they understood that with this system they were not going to solve their problems, because they lost them." the trust"; and yet "two years have passed and they are still far from their families. They came out to ask for us too. The only thing we can do for them, which seems like a little, but is a lot if we all join together, is to ask that they give them the freedom, to ask them to return to their families," stressed Calzadilla, who considers herself just another Cuban who is interested in her nation.

Several Internet users agreed that the arrest of the young woman's husband is part of the regime's old strategy to silence voices that are uncomfortable.

Activist Iliana Hernández, who was persecuted for months and had to leave the island due to harassment from State Security, told him that "the siege is already beginning, they will end up removing the license plate from the car and until you leave the country or we are knocked down dictatorship you will not have a normal life.

"They see where the rope is most fragile and look for a way to pressure you to shut up and not talk anymore, you have become someone uncomfortable for them, but you have many followers both in Cuba and abroad and they stop you from doing that. It makes them show their true face to the world and it doesn't suit them. We are all with you and we support you, FREEDOM," said another Calzadilla follower on Facebook.
