Cubans La Cruz and Álvarez will fight on Night of Champions

Each of them will face a Russian boxer.

Two veterans of the Tamers of Cuba, Julio César La Cruz from Camagüey and Lázaro Álvarez from Pinar del Río, will face each other this Saturday in the Russian city of Serpukhov to local fighters during the Night of Champions of the International Boxing Association (IBA).

The La Cruz cruise will go against an old acquaintance, Muslim Gadzhimagomedov, whom he already defeated three times including the final duel of the Tokyo Olympic Games.

For his part, light welterweight Álvarez will fulfill his commitment against the world tan Vsevolod Shumkov.

Both Antillean fighters arrive at the evening backed by their respective amateur records and with unblemished records in the professional sector, although injured by two setbacks in the quarterfinals of the recent World Championship staged in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Thus, La Cruz has two Olympic crowns, five universals and records a couple of triumphs in the rented ring, while Álvarez arrives with three planetary belts, three summer third places and his professional record is 6-0.

By the way, the Pinar del Río's most recent triumph occurred a few days ago when he gave him a KO fulminante to the Mexican Edgar Espinosa in a ring in Cancun.
