Much has been said about the omnipresent Leo Messi's bodyguard at Inter Miami, Yassine Chueko, and most of the time he has been linked to the Navy SEALs, the elite corps of the United States armed forces. It was even said that the man had served in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, the British newspaper Daily Mail has denied these beliefs.
The renowned media outlet spoke with current and retired members of that unit, who assured him that "no one they knew had heard of him and that his name did not appear in a database of SEAL veterans to which they had access."
After obtaining this information, the Daily Mail tried to compare it with Chueko himself and with Inter Miami sources, but they did not respond to his request for answers.
One former SEAL who asked to remain anonymous said: "I've never heard of him. A former colleague has a database and says he is not a member of the team."
For now, what does seem to be true is that his hiring was recommended by the co-owner of the 'Herons', David Beckham, as a result of the growing popularity of the Argentine star among American fans, who harassed him on more than one occasion.
