The Cuban nurseSasha Borrego who is offering her services as a volunteer in Ukraine, addressed harsh words to the Cuban mercenaries who have joined the Russian military ranks.
"If the Russians win this warIt's not just Ukraine that will lose., Europe is going to lose and we are all going to lose. (...) You don't come to kill criminals here (in Ukraine), you come to kill innocent people. Don't be stupid anddo not embarrass Cuba anymore"Borrego told the mercenaries in an interview conducted byAmerica.
Thenurse and war correspondent It is located in the port city of Odessa. From there he asked the Cubans who have joined the Russian ranks to be courageous and abandon the mission.
"Do not try to come to Ukraine by crossing illegally, those times are over," he said and recalled that there is aprogram for military deserters of the enemy army.
"The Ukrainian government has cowardly not spoken out, but wewe do not accept the hackneyed statements of the dictatorship saying that they knew nothing (of therecruitment of Cuban soldiers). We know very clearly that they do command Cubans and continue to command," he said.
Borrego assures that there is100 cubans of the military forces known as"black wasps" studying Ukrainian in a town near the border.
"I tell those who are embarking on that adventure, that the American soldiers who are there love you as if you were theChe Guevara. They are going to be your trophy. Don't risk your life. In Ukraine they can enter the deserter program," the Cuban reiterated.
In March 2022, ininterview toCyberCubaBorrego said that as a nurse and as a journalist she knew that she could help the people of Cuba a lot, to let them know that "the Cuban television news does not tell the truth about this war."
The regime insists it is not sending soldiers to war and claimed last week to have detained17 people related to recruitment of Cuban mercenaries in the service of Russia.
