AAmazon delivery woman in Florida is in serious condition after being bitten by a rattlesnake while delivering a package to a home.
The incident occurred last Monday night in Palm City, a place located in Martin County, in the south of the state.
The driver of the company van went to a house andWhen placing the package on the floor in front of the front door, she was bitten by a rattlesnakediamondback which was coiled nearby.
According to the county sheriff's office, the event took place in a community called Highland Reserve.
"The driver walked to the door, left the package and wentattacked by the snake on the back of the leg, just above the knee", accurate.
The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, immediately began to feel unwell and called 911. Dispatchers were able to locate her exact location thanks to the GPS coordinates on her cell phone and sent help to her.
"Wastransported to the hospital, where she is in very serious condition"the sheriff's office stressed inFacebook.
The note reminds that this type of snake is highly venomous and very common in that area of the state.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, this species can be found throughout the state and frequently in pine forests.
It is also one of the longest snakes, it can measure up to 2.3 meters.
In March 2017, a five-year-old boy was admitted to a northeast Florida hospital after beingbitten on the finger by a rattlesnake that he mistook for a toy.
The event occurred when the little boy was playing in the garden of a home in the town of DeBary, north of Orlando (Volusia County).
The minor, whose family resides in the city of Tampa, was rushed to a county hospital, where doctors administered an antidote.
Authorities indicated that the snake was captured and euthanized.
