A freight train derailed Friday night in Havana and the cars were stranded in the street, disrupting traffic.
The incident occurred at the Calzada de Luyanó railway crossing, in the Diez de Octubre municipality, according to a witness who shared a photo on her profile. Facebook.
"Several freight cars are stranded on the side of the road," he said.
Livan Castillo Rojas, member of the group Facebook "Bus Drivers Forever" warned the drivers to be aware of traffic in the Café Colón area.
"I just passed through the Café Colón line and the Mariel train's rope came loose and the train continued its course but left cars in the middle of the line. I advise anyone who goes to La Palma to detour through Acosta looking for Porvenir, and then get in and look for La Palma, or enter through Paulines and vice versa," he suggested.
"At least I had time to tell the 613 that I was at the electricity company on the way to Eléctrico and he was able to turn around," he added.
Residents in the area commented on the event on the Internet.
The event caused no injuries, although it is unknown if there was material damage.
"The car I was in had to deviate to take Porvenir to get to La Palma, because of the train," he confirmed in the group of Facebook "BUS & TRUCK ACCIDENTS for more experience and fewer victims!" the user Amauri Varela Diaz.
