The Mister Cuba 2024 men's fashion contest has extended its casting call deadline to allow more people to participate in the event.
"At the request of those who were unable to submit their applications and those whose submissions were incomplete, which led to them not being considered, we are extending the call until January 20," the contest organizers stated on social media.
Last year, this men's fashion event was surrounded by significant controversy because the winner, Santiago native Damián Cobas Masso, declined the title, citing personal reasons that prevented him from participating in the planned activities.
The Cuban Alejandro Carrion took his place, although later, both models represented Cuba in the international competition.
Cobas is the most visible figure on social media for Mister Cuba, a contest supported by the Chilean company Alfa Male.
The Organizing Committee of Míster Cuba Oficial now wants to "play it safe," which is why they have listed, as their top requirement for being chosen as the most attractive Cuban man in 2024, the need to have "the desire to represent the country in international contests."
The organizers ask contestants to demonstrate an enthusiastic, friendly, and proactive personality; the ability to work in a team; as well as discipline, seriousness, and responsibility to face the challenges and pressure that come with the title of Mister Cuba 2024.
Participants must be of Cuban nationality and aged between 18 and 34 years. The minimum height requirement is 1.80 meters. If you are a short man, you are not eligible, no matter how charismatic you may be.
Cubans who wish to participate must send a photo of their face along with two full-body pictures in swimwear (one taken from the front and the other from the side).
The organizers of the contest clarify that it is not necessary for the photographs to be taken by professionals and specify that "they should not be retouched (edited)." The real, natural beauty of the participants is highly valued.
