A man was shot and killed inside a convenience store in northwest County.Miami-Dade shortly before 9 a.m. this Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the area of 92nd Street and Northwest 22nd Avenue, where a store is locatedI took Stop.Police responded to reports of a shooting received through the systemShotspotter.
Witnesses told authorities that the victim was inside the establishment when someone entered and shot him several times. At the moment we only know that the deceased is a man. and that the incident was not preceded by any provocation at the scene.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the victim shot inside the establishment. No one else was injured.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and police deployed a perimeter, assisted by SWAT command officers and the canine unit.
The attacker was finally arrested a few blocks from the scene of the incident.
The police spokesperson, Ángel Rodríguez, stated in statements collected byAmerica Camel that they do not believe that there was another person involved in the event, and specified that detectives are working to determine the causes of the murder.
A resident of the area told the aforementioned media that she first heard about 16 shots and that after about three minutes she heard more shots.
Another resident in the area said he was not surprised by the violent incident.
“There has always been a lot of violence in this area. That must be outstanding bills or drugs. There is a lot to see on that corner, there is a lot of movement at any time, but I don't go there and nothing has ever happened to me,” said Rafael Zaldívar, a resident of the area.
The case remains open and under investigation.
