Meta Apps -Instagram and Facebook- have suffered a global drop this Tuesday, causing users to be unable to use social networks.
The company has justified that the fall is due to maintenance tasks on its platforms.
"Facebook will be available soon. Facebook is not available at this time because we are performing maintenance. Please log back into your account in a few minutes", they report in a notice.
According to the websiteDowndetector, which monitors access incidents to different services based on user reports and incidents, the problems began to appear around 4 p.m. (Spanish time).
Andy Stone, a spokesperson for Meta – the parent company of Facebook and Instagram – wrote on Twitter that the company was aware of the outage and that they were working to restore its services.
"We are aware that people are having problems accessing our services. We are working on this now", wrote.
WhatsApp, which is also owned by Mark Zuckerberg's conglomerate, has also gone through service outages but not as extensive and widespread as the other applications mentioned.

As is usually the case when these incidents occur, the issue has become a trend with thehashtag #instagramdown and#facebookdown.
Internet users have wasted no time in sharing funny memes making fun of the downed applications.
As of the closing of this note, there are no other details about the fall of the popular applications, nor an estimate of the time in which they will be out of service.
