Boca Ciega falls to pieces: "This is a crime"

Ironically, the complainant said that the former Minister of Economy Alejandro Gil cannot be blamed, because the problem has been going on for several years.

Cuban YouTuber Juan Carlos, who manages the channel “Vámonos con Juanka,” denounced the terrible conditions in which the houses near Boca Ciega beach in Havana are located, a situation that he classified as “criminal.”

Juanka, as this content creator is popularly known, began by saying in an extensive publication on the social network Facebook that he was returning to this beach located in Eastern Havana, 15 years after his last visit.

“I begin the tour inside and see one, and then another, and another, and not only houses, two-story apartments and apartment buildings abandoned to their fate,” said the YouTuber.

He stated that his astonishment at the abandonment was so great that he immediately thought of blaming theformer Minister of Economy Alejandro Gil, these days the sacrifice of the regime to "justify" all its evils.

“But no, according to local residents, the problem of apathy and abandonment dates back to long before his appointment, the situation, COVID, chicken guts and evenLazarus and Yarelis", he expressed somewhat jokingly to clarify the lack of explanations for this event.

In his criticism he confessed that the author of the famous phrase thatCuba advances and that hurts them, you should not know about that situation. He also described those in charge of ensuring the care of that place as opportunists, including political and administrative decision-makers.

“It seems unacceptable to me that a company that generated income in various currencies, with an annual budget designated by the Provincial and Municipal Assembly of People's Power, plus the national governing entity for partial or capital repairs, have allowed this high degree to reach these days. of deterioration,” he added.

He questioned why housing allocations have not been made in those places, knowing the deficit that exists in the country, and especially in Havana.

“I am not crazy, nor am I delirious, I walk Havana every day and I know of the measures that have been taken with some families who do not have housing for some reason: they have put them in premises that belonged to companies, former currency stores and even in old bars and wineries in the capital,” he said.

While a question remained open in his complaint and whose location was directed to the decision-makers: “why not take advantage of these spaces as housing for social cases if we know that for more than fifteen years Boca Ciega has not been of interest even to the Ministry of Tourism not even for the Government?”

The truth is that Juanka's images and reflection are not new, although they provide more deterioration than that experienced five years ago by the user Dania Virgen García, who in 2019 published a message on the social network Facebook.video where you can see several empty and ruined houses, which could be granted to people without housing on the Island.

At that time, the Internet user not only referred to Boca Ciega but included images of Guanabo in her compendium.

"More than 100 homes in deplorable condition, but they can be repaired with their own efforts if they are given to needy families, sheltered people who have been living in a critical situation for more than 20 years," García said.

In 2022, but throughTikTok, another Cuban made the complaint.

“With so many Cubans here who do not have houses to live in, and many are even sleeping on the street!”, he lamented while filming the state of increasing ruin of many buildings in the aforementioned town, adjacent to the beaches of Santa María and Guanabo. .

“And so they have this little town of Boca Ciega...it's embarrassing, it's disgusting, it's sad. "Stay like this, with a square eye, this is communism!" he concluded.
