An elderly Cuban who was reported missing in a municipality in Spain was found dead in front of a gas station.

The body of Aníbal, 70 years old, appeared in a field in La Jana, in the Valencian Community.

According to the newspaperMediterranean, Aníbal, who suffered from mental illness, had lived for three months in the neighboring municipality of Traiguera. On Sunday morning he went out to throw out the trash and did not return.

Hours later, the city council issued an alert and asked for citizen collaboration to find him. He spread his photo and the description of his clothes and clarified that he had only been living in Traiguera for three months, so he could have been lost or disoriented.

On Monday, members of the Civil Guard, dogs specialized in locating people and a helicopter joined the search.

Unfortunately everything was unsuccessful and that same day he was found dead.

Until now, the causes of the death of the elderly Cuban have not been reported. According to the local report, it apparently was due to natural causes, heart failure or hypothermia, since the man spent the previous morning on the street dressed in short sleeves.
