10-year-old boy shot in Broward shooting

Pompano Beach firefighters took the boy to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not said if any suspects are in custody.

And 10-year-old boy wounded by gunshot in shooting at Pompano Beach home, city located in Broward County.

The incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 6:35 pm, near the 1700 block of Northwest Fourth Street. The neighborhood is just west of Highway 95, near Atlantic Boulevard.

A 911 call reported the shooting, and upon arriving at the scene, police found a child who had been shot.

As reported Local 10, the minor was taken by Pompano Beach firefighters to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The agents spoke with residents of the area to gather information about the incident.

The Broward Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit investigating the circumstances of the shooting. At the time of writing this note, it has not been determined whether it was a random act or a planned attack.

It has also not been reported if there are any suspects in custody.
