The city of Santiago de Cuba regrets the death of Gabino Jardines Cisneros, an important accompanying guitarist, which occurred this Saturday morning at the age of 76.
Since his beginnings as an artist, he participated in the most important events in Santiago de Cuba, supporting the declaration of the city as a creative city in music, reported the official Big Turquino.
One of his last presentations took place at the House of Trova of Santiago de Cuba, during the inauguration of the club Eva Griñán, a deceased artist, who was his partner on stage for many years.
Jardines accompanied several generations of great Cuban singers with his guitar, including Elena Burke, Omara Portuondo, Beatriz Márquez, Farah Maria, Ela Bald, among others.
He also lent his strings to new figures such as Giselle Lage, Annie Garcés, Luna Manzanares, Eduardo Sosa, etc.
In addition, he shared the stage with the Guatemalan Alvaro Torres, as well as the Dominicans Johnny Ventura and Sonia Silvestre.
Until the last minutes of his life he accompanied the singer from Santiago Griselle Gomez.
Jardines began his artistic life as a clarinetist in the musical band of the Don Bosco church, according to Gonzalo González, a communicator from the EGREM's Siboney Studies in Santiago, who lamented in Facebook the death of the artist.
The musician from Santiago participated in student festivals and then began his professional work as an accompanying guitarist. In addition, he studied saxophone at the Esteban Salas Conservatory.
He participated in the most important events held in the city of Santiago de Cuba, including the Pepe Sánchez Trova, Boleros de Oro, Matamoroson and Fiesta del Fuego festivals.
“Fly high, dear Gabino, may your guitar continue to accompany the stars who will be with you today to welcome you on this long journey. Thank you for your friendship and good music,” González wrote as a farewell to the outstanding artist.
Recently, the city of Santiago de Cuba also mourned the death of two beloved children.
The outstanding doctor Silvia Carlota Jústiz Hernández, who dedicated more than six decades to pediatric pulmonology, said goodbye last April.
“With deep sadness, we announce the death of Dr. Silvia Carlota Jústiz Hernández, an eminent pediatrician and teacher of generations, with more than 60 years dedicated entirely to the noble work of saving lives,” published the provincial health directorate of Santiago de Cuba in Facebook.
The death of Daniel Antonio Colás Soulary, young promise of baseball, in Santiago de Cuba this Wednesday, generated a deep impact among his family, friends and followers.
“Today, May 1st, I would have turned 23 years old.”, reported communicator Yosmany Mayeta in Facebook, highlighting that the boy had a promising future, according to those close to him.
