A tourist explored the streets of Havana and realized the contrast between the reality presented by the official Cuban propaganda and the true situation he experienced during his walks, which was much less attractive.

The disappointment she experienced while visiting different places in Havana was captured in a video posted on TikTok this Thursday. While exploring an empty lot in Central Havana, she wondered, "How can people live in this situation?"

The traveler acknowledged that there are beautiful and well-preserved buildings. However, he also noticed that, just a few meters away, there could perfectly be another one "completely destroyed".

One time, he recounted that he entered one of these dilapidated buildings "to see how people lived." His biggest surprise was seeing people literally living with "raw sewage flowing by."

This sad reality led him to reflect on how Cubans can live in conditions he described as "inhuman".

Those "contrasts" are a reality that, he admitted, he "cannot understand".

Finally, he/she arrived at the conclusion that "the reality of the Cuban people" is far from the image that the official propaganda presents to visitors.

Tourists' stories of disappointment when visiting different cities in Cuba are frequent and recurrent.

The famous YouTubers "Mateo and Lisanna", an influencer couple who travel the world and have over a million followers on their channel, stated after visiting the island that prices in Cuba are the same or higher than in Europe.

After going through a supermarket and paying for a purchase for an afternoon snack for four people, Lisanna said that the prices of basic products in Havana were higher than in Estonia, her country, where also wages are higher than in the Caribbean nation.

The influencers arrived in Havana in early April to reveal to the world what they called "The Cuban lie".
