Ariel Ramos Perdomo, the young Cuban who turned his grandmother Martha into an internet viral phenomenon, is now in the United States.
"Thank you all and especially to you, YG Insurance Solutions, freedom is something priceless," he said on his Instagram account.
This Sunday, Ariel shared a video in which his arrival at Kansas airport is seen, where he was received by a group of people who came with balloons and an American flag.
The young man left Cuba from Varadero on an American Airlines flight bound for Miami, as his ticket showed.
Numerous internet users congratulated him in the comments section, all with the same concern: what happens now with Martha and how he must have felt without his partner in so many fun adventures.
"Welcome to the land of freedom and opportunities, but bring Martha as soon as possible," said a young woman.
Congratulations, I'm happy for you, but I'm going to miss the videos with Martha," another wrote.
"I know that very soon they will all be gathered, with God's help," stated a mother.
"I am crying, it has made me sad, I can imagine how much Marthica must miss you," another internet user expressed.
"I think we all are happy for him, but we think about Martha with tears in our eyes," emphasized a girl.
A user identified as deyibl said that Ariel is not the grandson of the elderly woman and that he had only been with her for four years.
In March, in one of her charming videos, Martha referred to Ariel as her grandson, and categorically stated that anyone who messes with him "doesn't value their life."
"I am a Cuban grandmother, and whoever messes with my grandson doesn't value their life," she said in a threatening tone that only caused laughter.
The woman described herself as a "badass" and added that she was learning on social media, has her own tricks in the kitchen, cooks delicious food, and that "when I get angry, I swear".
The video ended with her and her grandson dancing reggaeton before embracing in an emotional hug.
In April, in another fun recording, Ariel joked saying that they had received the parole and were giving online English classes.
"Can you imagine yourself arriving in the United States and not knowing how to speak English?" he asked in a tone of feigned concern.
"We are going to get ready for that," she said determinedly.
In the video, the lady was seen paying real attention to the classes and trying to repeat the phrases along with her grandson, who sometimes couldn't help but laugh.
"Who is worse at English, you or me?" he asked.
"We are both the same," she replied convincingly.
Ariel is responsible for their popularity on TikTok and Facebook. Last month, they reached 100,000 followers on Instagram and celebrated by taking a scooter ride.
Days before, he played a joke on her using La Diosa's voice, in which he used an audio clip from a live broadcast of the singer when she was in Cuba, criticizing ETECSA for its poor service. Martha, unaware of everything, thought the insults were directed at her.
After the success of that video, Ariel recorded two more in which the elderly woman fought with none other than Chocolate and Lucy Sosa, two of the most well-known and controversial faces in the Miami showbiz on social media.
Wearing a wig, the elderly woman listened to the insults of the reggaeton singer and did not hesitate to respond. "You are the faggot, and respect me because I am going to take you to jail," she yelled at the speaker.
The bond between Ariel and Martha is so strong that they both recorded a video singing and dancing to the rhythm of reggaeton.
