Three former members of the well-remembered Morenas del Caribe from Cuban volleyball were seen together with former star player Raúl Diago in Havana.

The photo of the meeting was shared by the sports journalist Yasel Porto on his Facebook profile, where it has received almost 6,700 likes in just 24 hours.

In the photo, Camagüeyans Tania Ortiz, Idalmis Gato, and Yumilka Ruiz are seen posing smiling alongside who "many consider the best Cuban setter of all time, the Matanzas native Raúl Diago Izquierdo."

According to the internet user identified as Grupo de Gestión y Desarrollo del Dominó GGDD, the photograph was taken at Tania's house - which is also a rental house - and she is married to a four-time world domino champion named Pipo.

Hundreds of users congratulated the four former athletes, sports legends in Cuba who gave unforgettable moments to the fans years ago.

We will always feel nostalgic for seeing those great women giving us pleasure with their great moments on the court, standing up and shouting for a great spike against the opposing team," recalled a freelance worker.

"Many of us enjoy their performances in every game, today we tip our hats to show our respect and affection," said a woman from Artemisa.

"How to forget the Morenas del Caribe, so much dedication, love, strength, joy, determination, and above all, the desire to win and show their Cuban identity," expressed a woman from Camagüey.

"Much magic, talent, sacrifice, and quality, among many other good things in that photo. My respects to these figures of Cuban volleyball," said a Trinidadian.

Tania Ortiz, 59, was an Olympic champion in Barcelona 1992. Her former teammates Idalmis Gato (52) and Yumilka Ruiz (44) have won two more titles: Atlanta 96 and Sydney 2000.

Yumilka, who was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame last year, also competed in the Athens 2004 Olympics, where Cuba had to settle for bronze.
