For Alejandro Santoya, El Yonki, the passing of his mother this week has been a hard blow; in such a painful moment of his life, getting on stage to sing becomes the most difficult task.

After the loss of his loved one, the reggaeton singer has not been very active on social media, but this Saturday, he shared a sad message with his followers.

"Today I have to face a stage and sing to the audience with a broken heart," reads the post.

El Yonki's words triggered dozens of messages of support, including those from some colleagues in the music industry.

"Strength," wrote Osmani García, and Wow Popy added: "She is great, she is proud of you."

"Your mom will feel proud, the same thing happened to me with my grandma, I had to stand on a stage without strength but that still makes us even greater. Many blessings Yonki and to your dear mom, may God take care of her wherever she is," commented Yulién Oviedo.

The singer's wife also publicly showed him her support: "My love, my life, pride of your holy mommy, I can't find a way to help you. God give strength to my skinny one, how strong my mother is."

For several months, El Yonki's mother has been battling a serious illness, which led her son to travel frequently to Cuba.

Faced with criticism for his visits to the island, the singer firmly stated on more than one occasion that his mom, his daughter, and family are always his top priority.
