Several people who have known the young man since he was a child regretted his disappearance and recounted the sad circumstances he has had to endure, which may have led to his current state of health.

"We studied at José Martí school, his mom passed away when he was only 16 years old, and his uncle suffered from the same illness. Now his cousins are abroad, and his sister left just a year ago. He has destroyed his entire house," detailed a resident from Cárdenas.

"My God, it's so sad to see him like this, I remember him from when I was in high school, he used to visit schools all the time, he was very nice. I didn't know he had become mentally ill. May God allow him to reappear safe and sound as soon as possible," another commented.

His grandparents lived next to my house, and I saw him every day. It broke my heart to remember the boy he was when we were in school, poor thing. I always gave him even little bits of food out of pity for him," a third person pointed out.
