In a moving video shared on TikTok, a young Cuban woman (@mariammontero66 on the platform) showed the emotional moment when she reunited with her family in Cuba after almost two years of separation.
"Only God knows how much I prayed for this moment to arrive," he/she wrote alongside the video that compiles the heart-wrenching reunions with his loved ones and the emotion for the long-awaited hugs.
The video, as often happens with these human stories, provoked a wave of reactions and comments from followers who empathized with his case, similar to that of hundreds of thousands of Cubans.
"I'm watching and waiting for my moment," said a person, to which Mariam responded hopefully, "Soon, you'll see."
