An ambulance in service was wrecked after crashing into a truck while transferring several patients to Havana.
The incident involved workers from the SIUM of Mayabeque, who were injured but are not in life-threatening danger, as reported by the Facebook group "ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES, por más experiencia y menos víctimas" (BUS & TRUCK ACCIDENTS, for more experience and fewer victims).
An internet user stated that the nurse, the doctor, the driver, and the patients who were being transferred are doing well.
The injured workers' colleagues stated that many of them have already been discharged.
The ambulance - belonging to base #10 of San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque - collided with a Ford truck apparently dedicated to passenger transport.
The incident occurred at 1:00 am on Saturday near the traffic light at 100 and Aldabó, before reaching the Willian Soler Hospital in Havana, as reported by a social media user.
Workers from the SIUM commented on the publication and agreed that many drivers do not respect the right of way of ambulances.
