A young teacher was murdered by her partner on Friday in Santiago de Cuba.
The crime occurred in the People's Council of Palmarito de Cauto located in the municipality of Mella, as reported on Facebook by the independent journalist Yosmani Mayeta Labrada.
Up to the moment of writing this note, the authorities have not provided any information on the incident.
Internet users commented on Mayeta Labrada's posts that the victim was named Ailin and that apparently it was her husband who killed her by hitting her on the head.
"Ailin was my friend, my deepest condolences to her mother Mayelín and her siblings," said user Danis Belkis Rodríguez Portelles.
If this fact is confirmed, there would already be 23 femicides that have occurred in Cuba this year.
In May, another woman was murdered in Santiago de Cuba at the hands of her partner. Her name was Isaira Despaigne and she was killed on May 14th or 15th in her home in the main city. She is survived by three children.
The 22 crimes were published by press media, citizens, and activists, and verified with community sources through the joint effort of the Alas Tensas Observatory (OGAT) and YosíTeCreo en Cuba (YSTCC).
