After several years of unsuccessful attempts and just a few hours after celebrating their fifteenth Champions League title, the Spanish club Real Madrid announced on Monday the signing of the French star Kylian Mbappé, considered today the best football player on the planet.
Mbappé, 25 years old and the universal king of Russia 2018, arrives free to his new team after not extending his contract with Paris Saint Germain (PSG), which expires on the upcoming June 30th.
Officialized on the social network X, the first acquisition of the merengue entity for the 2024-2025 season ends one of the longest soap operas in the history of universal football, after several negotiations and the total attention of Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid.
According to various specialized media, the lethal forward signed for five years and his presentation will take place when the Eurocup ends, scheduled from June 14 to July 14. Only then will he return to the Santiago Bernabéu pitch and will be applauded by his new wave of supporters.
However, Mbappé wasted no time: he left his image in a video for Real Madrid's X account and made his first gesture to the fans on Instagram: "A dream come true. Very happy and proud to be part of the club of my dreams @realmadrid. It is impossible to explain how happy and excited I feel at this moment. I am eager to see you, Madridistas, and thank you for your incredible support. Hala Madrid!"
According to the newspaper As, the top scorer will have a galactic salary: 15 million euros net per season, but, in addition, will receive a signing bonus that will be around 100 million. He will be the highest paid on the team! However, it is worth noting that at PSG he received 72 million, a figure that is almost impossible for most teams in the world to take on.
Now he will surpass the salaries of stars like David Alaba (12.5), Vinicius Junior (12 million), and Jude Bellingham (11), since Toni Kroos (13.5) will hang up his boots and Luka Modrić (11.5) reduced his salary in the updated renewal just a few days ago.
Likewise, the French player will keep all the profits from image or advertising agreements previously signed, and, in subsequent ones, 20 percent will go to the club, according to the aforementioned Iberian newspaper.
All of this happens amidst the merengue excitement after winning - once again - the Champions League.
