A Cuban woman shares her experience looking for a rental apartment in Miami.

My advice is not to go with the first option.

Dayanis, a Cuban woman based in Miami, shared on her TikTok account her experience in searching for an apartment to rent in the city and highlighted the difficulties and high costs of the market.

According to his extensive testimony shared online, many users felt identified. After being informed by his landlord that he planned to sell the apartment where he lived, he had to embark on an intensive search to find a new place to live.

Dayanis describes her search experience as a real odyssey. "For two months, I was looking for options, hoping to find something a little cheaper or better," she recounts in her video, where she referred to the rental market prices where for a two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment, landlords can ask for between $2,500 and $2,600 monthly. Additionally, she mentioned other expenses such as deposit, first month's rent, and everything related to moving.

Despite the difficulties, Dayanis managed to find what met her expectations. "I found an apartment with all the features I needed for a rent of $2,000 per month," she said, noting that this new place has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a balcony, more natural light, security with controlled access door, and two parking spaces in addition to a visitor parking spot.

However, the process was neither easy nor cheap. In order to move, Dayanis had to pay a total of $6,500, a significant sum that involved giving up on other expenses and plans. "I know that not everyone can save $6,500 to move, life here is quite difficult," she admits, highlighting the financial pressure that many people living in Miami are facing.

The young mother concluded her video advising those looking for an apartment in Miami not to despair and to start their search early: "You can have the same luck as me and find something with better conditions for a more reasonable price."

His experience reflects the challenges of the rental market in Miami, where high costs can make finding a suitable home a difficult and costly task.
