The city of Miami Beach has proposed a new maritime transportation service to connect with Miami, similar to the existing bus system.

In a recent social media post, the Miami Beach administration invited residents to a virtual community meeting on June 11 to discuss the details of the project.

The official announcement highlighted: "The city of Miami Beach invites you to participate in a virtual community meeting to discuss the proposed pilot program of a water taxi that will transport passengers between Miami Beach and Miami."

This project is not new. Several similar initiatives have been presented in the city that did not materialize.

Currently, there is a ferry service between Miami and Miami Beach, but its high costs make it impractical for workers who make the journey daily.

This new effort seeks to offer a more accessible and efficient alternative for residents moving around the communities in the region, enhancing connectivity and relieving land traffic.

Citizens will be able to express their opinions and suggestions about the maritime transportation project that could improve mobility and, at the same time, be a new potential for tourism.
