19-year-old Cuban begs for a humanitarian visa: "Don't let me die"

The young man has been bedridden for two years, living in subhuman conditions due to an error in an operation he underwent in Cuba after suffering an accident.

A Cuban of only 19 years old is pleading for a humanitarian visa to receive medical treatment abroad, after two years of living bedridden and in subhuman conditions.

Yordanis Nieves Méndez is in that sad situation due to a medical error in an operation he underwent in Cuba after suffering an accident.

The bad procedure left him bedridden, with a gastric tube and extreme thinness, and the impossibility of a treatment that restores his health is compounded by the shortage of food and poverty that exists in his home.

"I am asking the world for help. Please, do not let me die here, a 19-year-old child, do not leave me in this prison," he pleaded.

"I have no freedom, release me, please, I'm asking you. Be humane and help me, I'm asking and begging you not on my knees, because I can't move them, if not...", he added.

Yordanis pointed out that he uploaded a video to the Internet a few days ago but it was taken down. His testimony is now being shared on Instagram by journalist Javier Díaz from Univisión 23, in a video showing the precarious conditions in which he lives.

The patient reported that the family's economic situation is so dire that they have even resorted to eating rotten beans or rice with chicken-flavored tablets.

"This case is incredible, but even more incredible is the determination of this teenager who is fighting for his life and asking for freedom!" expressed Javier Díaz.

"I need you to help me and not let me die here, please, I beg you. Get me out of this prison, out of this jail," the young man repeated.
