Heated fight in a line to buy bread in Havana

The unpleasant incident occurred in Playa municipality.

In the early hours of this Friday, a fight broke out in a line to buy bread in the Buena Vista neighborhood, in the Havana municipality of Playa.

In the bread line in the early morning in #BuenaVista municipality #Playa, at the bakery on 44th street between 29th and 31st, a heated argument ended," wrote the Twitter user "Coffee with peas."

"Between the hunger caused by the system, and the bad behavior of some people, they are literally destroying the country," he added.

The images show several people engaged in a physical confrontation. The details of the fight and the cause are unknown, but the incident stands as further evidence of a crisis that affects all levels in Cuba.

In the video, several people move amid shouts several meters trying to calm down the violent situation, while others are involved in it.

Dozens of Cubans who were waiting in line to buy bread at that time witnessed the fight.

They are brave for that, but when it comes to confronting the real culprits of their misfortunes, they lack the courage and hang their heads. Cubans just can't seem to learn," declared an internet user in the comments section of the publication.

It is not the first time that videos of large fights have gone viral in Cuba in recent months, including some of them in lines.

Last March, at least one man was injured when another man attacked him with a machete while they were standing in line to buy sausages on the Isle of Youth.
