A Cuban from Miami lists what she didn't understand about life in the United States before arriving from the island.

Life in the United States: Cuban in Miami shares her experience and what she did not understand before.

Through a TikTok video, a Cuban woman in the United States listed three things she did not understand about Cubans living outside of Cuba when she was still on the island. The list concluded with the reflection that for a person in Cuba, it is difficult to get an idea of what life is like outside.

"I found it striking that people complained a lot when the price of gas went up a few cents, something I considered insignificant. Upon arriving, I realized that for many people, being able to go to work every day depended on that. When I arrived, everything made sense," said user @amyyyyy_22, who resides in Miami.

The second thing I didn't understand when I still lived on the island was why people read the label of the producer on the milk. "Why do they read the labels? Milk is milk. When we lived in Cuba, we only knew one type of milk. In my mind, I couldn't understand why people read the labels on the milk. After arriving, I realized how important it is to read the labels," he commented.

"Do you really not have 5 minutes to answer me? That was my question when my friends took a long time to respond to me. And I would say why aren't they responding to me, until I was the one who didn't have time to respond. We really have no idea how fast time flies and we have a distorted idea of what life is like in the United States or outside of Cuba," she said to conclude the video.

What do you think?
