Animal advocates from Sancti Spíritus celebrate Yeiko's recovery with a heartfelt video of the dog

The rescuers shared a video showing the dog very active and noticeably recovered.

Animal protectors in the province of Sancti Spíritus celebrated on Friday the swift recovery of Yeiko, a dog who was attacked with a machete by a man last May, and shared an emotional video of the dog barking at the street.

The ARCA Sancti Spíritus Foundation, which raised the alarm and took care of the first aid and care for the dog, published a reel on Facebook showing Yeiko in good condition and very active, which is a clear sign of his recovery.

In the video, you can see the dog peeking out from the doorway and barking at something that catches its attention on the street. In the background, a female voice can be heard saying, “Where is he going? He's just making noise.”

This Saturday, the animal protection organization shared a photo on Facebook showing Yeiko with his wound uncovered, but healed. The dog appears to be very active and in good shape.

The post was widely celebrated by followers, who first expressed outrage over the violence Yeiko experienced, and then closely followed each step of his recovery.

Recently, the aforementioned organization shared some images of the recovery of this dog.

"It’s amazing how much Yeiko has improved; the wound is practically healed, and he behaves so well during his treatments," they noted on Facebook, continuing the story of this dog who was a victim of a violent and cruel act.

"Go Yeiko, you can do it, you're nearing the finish line," ARCA pointed out while sharing images of the dog with its owner, who found him after the animal was rescued and underwent surgery.

On May 20, the ARCA Sancti Spíritus Foundation became aware of the brutal attack on this dog, an incident that immediately called for their efforts to save this animal's life.

"When everyone was asleep, our foundation suffered alongside the medical team that was tirelessly fighting to save Yeiko's life," they stated on Facebook, while also denouncing the horrific crime.
