A young Cuban recently sought help via social media to find her lost Pekingese dog in Old Havana, offering a reward of 500 dollars for its safe return.

However, Melanie León clarified on Facebook that she will only give the reward "if it's the real puppy, clearly."

He also made it clear: "I won't go to any address unless they send me pictures first or we talk via video," as an apparent measure to avoid scams.

Finally, she specified that the dog went missing in the Belén neighborhood, in the municipality of Old Havana, and provided two phone numbers for any information: 50118282 and 78606483.

In a previous post, León clarified that the dog, named Hachi, is affectionate but also delicate, as he is epileptic, hyperactive, and intolerant to many foods.

She added that even if someone bought him, the reward would still be given, as Hachi is considered a son and an essential part of the family: “I feel empty; they have taken the most precious thing in my life from me. I will never tire of searching for him,” she expressed.

Usually, people turn to social media seeking help to find their lost pets, offering rewards as a gesture of love and commitment towards their dogs and cats.

In September, a person in Havana offered a reward of 500 dollars on social media to anyone who could return their lost dog.

Elena Gonzales reported in the Facebook group "Huellas Callejeras de Cuba" that the animal, named Leche for its white color, was last seen at the intersection of 9na and 62 streets in the Miramar neighborhood, Playa municipality.

A month earlier, a family from Sancti Spíritus offered a reward of 200 dollars to anyone who finds and returns their lost dog.

Vivian González Lorenzo reported in the Facebook group “(SOS) Lost Dogs in Cuba” that the pet, apparently a dachshund, went missing in the Garaita area, near the Children's Center.
