Some Christian rafters who set sail for Mexico documented their dangerous journey in a small boat where they only had one sail.
The group leader, who goes by the name Zaphnath-Paaneah on TikTok, shared several videos showing everything they had to do, including cutting down trees to build the boat, which they named "Sailor of Love, Christ Lives".
According to what they said, they left from Playa Larga, Matanzas, and originally had a motor, but it broke down. They had to stop at a key, where they even hunted crocodiles to eat.
From then on, they had to continue sailing, but not even that made them turn back.
The shared videos show the optimism of the rafters, among whom were men and women, and even an elderly lady, who sang songs and messages of praise to Christ and expressed confidence that they would fulfill their dream.
Finally, they arrived safely in Cancun, to continue from there to the United States.
"I didn't leave in search of the American dream, but fleeing the Cuban nightmare," said the author of the videos.
