Young people surf on flooded Miami street after heavy rains.

Under the persistent rain, the surfers are having fun as if they were on the best of beaches.

The floods that have occurred in Miami after the intense rains of recent days motivated several young people to go surfing in the city streets.

A video shared on the Instagram account of the user "Miami Problems" shows what appear to be two teenagers, separately, surfing on the back of a vehicle while two other friends cheer them on with laughter.

Under the insistent rain, the surfers have fun as if they were at the best of beaches.

The video has sparked various reactions among internet users.

While some applaud them as something fun, others warn that by doing that, one is exposed to being struck by lightning, touching a fallen power line, or even the appearance of a crocodile.

However, these are not the only images of daredevils who have turned bad weather into their source of fun. Some people decided to swim in the middle of the street, sail in kayaks or other marine accessories, or simply dance in the rain.

After the heavy rainfall this week in Florida, some neighborhoods were still flooded on Friday, with their streets submerged making it difficult for vehicles and pedestrians to circulate.

After three days of excessive rain, on Thursday the National Weather Service (NWS) of Miami warned residents in the southern part of the State that more rain was on the way due to a tropical disturbance that has caused significant flash flooding.

The agency stressed that significant flooding would continue in several neighborhoods, particularly in parts of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Collier counties.

The severe floods in southern Florida led to highway closures, school cancellations, and the cancellation of nearly 300 flights. On Wednesday, many drivers were left stranded with their cars in the middle of the street.

The magnitude of the meteorological crisis led Governor Ron DeSantis to declare a state of emergency in the counties of Miami-Dade, Broward, Collier, Lee, and Sarasota.
