Animal protectors in Sancti Spíritus shared photos of Yeiko last Friday, the dog who was macheted and left to fend for himself, showing that his wounds are now almost old scars.
The ARCA Sancti Spíritus Foundation published two photographs on Facebook showing Yeiko very active, enjoying good health, with his wounds healed and barely noticeable.
"Our prince is almost healed; soon there will only be small scars that love will erase, and his heart will heal alongside his family who adores him so much," animal rights activists noted on social media.
In May, Yeiko underwent surgery after which he received over 50 stitches. The dog arrived at the clinic with severe wounds on his head, including an exposed eye that he unfortunately lost, along with a fractured jaw.
Subsequently, animal advocates celebrated each step in the dog's recovery.
“It’s incredible how much Yeiko has improved; his wound is practically healed, and he behaves so well every time he receives treatment,” noted the organization, continuing the story of this dog who was a victim of a violent and cruel act.
"Come on, Yeiko, you can do it, you're nearing the finish line," ARCA noted while sharing images of the dog with its owner, who found him after he was rescued and underwent surgery.
Recently, animal rights activists also shared a video showing Yeiko being very active. At the same time, they celebrated the fact that the dog barked again as a significant achievement, highlighting his excellent progress.
The post was widely celebrated by followers, who were initially outraged by the violence Yeiko suffered and then closely followed each step of his recovery.
