Local police officers in Marbella, Spain, arrested a 37-year-old Cuban citizen on Tuesday for vandalizing the furniture in the San Enrique Arches park and attacking law enforcement authorities.
According to the Sur newspaper, the events took place near the courts of that territory, where - precisely - the accused emerged in a distressed state, prompting the authorities to be notified.
Without apparent reason, he threw cobblestones and a wooden board with nails during the police intervention, and when a first patrol was unable to contain the situation, reinforcements were requested, because "he did not stop making a commotion and threatening the agents," the text states.
However, he later claimed that the police had taken his dog and they would pay for it.
According to the aforementioned media outlet, the accused has a restraining order for gender violence, and during that same week, had already been arrested on several occasions for disobedience and assaulting authority.
At the beginning of June, a Cuban citizen was detained in the Spanish city of Galicia for driving without the corresponding permit. When detained, he explained that he did not have the original document since the police had confiscated it.
After an investigative process, it was verified that the Civil Guard had confiscated his Cuban driving license, valid for driving in Spain during the first six months of his stay in the country, and the authenticity of the document was confirmed, therefore the defense lawyer requested an acquittal for his client.
Another case registered in the Iberian nation was the arrest of two citizens from the island in the autonomous community of Asturias, for attacking a man with iron bars.
The Public Prosecutor's Office of the Principality of Asturias requested nine years in prison for the two accused, who assaulted another person in the municipality of Llanes, as reported by the news portal La Nueva España.
Likewise, a citizen of the Caribbean nation ended up arrested for impersonating the identity and credentials of a doctor specialized in digestive health, who saw approximately 800 patients at a private clinic in Madrid between July 2023 and April of this year.
