A fire breaks out at the Girón building in Havana.

The fire occurred at the Girón Building, located at Malecón and F Street.


A dense trail of smoke could be seen at several points in the Cuban capital this morning, due to a fire in the Girón building in Havana.

Despite the fact that the initial videos circulating on the internet did not accurately depict the magnitude of the event, the Municipal Administration Council of Plaza de la Revolución alerted the residents of Havana through a message on social media.

We inform our population that at the moment, the firefighters are working on extinguishing a fire at the Girón Building, located at Malecón and F, assured from the Facebook profile of this Cuban Government agency.

They also said that the main authorities of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government in Havana were present at the site.
