Touching story: Dog in Havana waits at the airport for the return of his family

The dog is in terminal three of the Havana airport. Those who have tried to rescue him say he tries to bite, hoping for his family to return and refusing to leave the place.

Animal protector Yenney Caballero alerted this Monday about a dog found at the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana apparently waiting for its family to return, who had abandoned the country.

The activist asked for help on Facebook to transport the dog from terminal three to the home of a shelter, offering to pay for the trip.

What disillusionment I feel towards human beings; they will not be happy not even on the moon for being so cruel. Please, someone take it, transportation will be paid for," pointed out the fervent animal protector.

Hours later, Caballero posted a video showing the dog at the airport, scared and surrounded by people.

A young girl went to pick up the puppy, she couldn't take him, he doesn't want to leave from there, when they try to pick him up, he tries to bite, runs to get away, waits for his family and they will never come back," said the distressed animal advocate.

"I am in contact with an airport worker who is feeding him, if on Thursday, when she works again, the little dog is there, I will pick him up with a muzzle and a leash to take him to the family that went to look for him, he deserves a second chance," she pointed out.

The fact is similar to the famous story of Hachiko, the dog that waited for years for its owner, and has aroused feelings of admiration among animal lovers and criticism towards owners who are capable of abandoning their pets.

Recently, the animal protection organization demonstrated its commitment to animal welfare when it reported that a Siberian Husky had been locked inside a house in San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque, for three days.

The young woman broke a fragment of the acrylic on the door, and when she inserted her cell phone camera, she was able to see that the place was abandoned and that the prisoner was a little puppy.

Outraged and not knowing what to do, Caballero finally decided to release the animal through the acrylic opening and told the dog owners to search for her and, if they wanted to, report her to the police.
