Yunaisy Buzón Almaguer, 54 years old, died last Sunday in a violent incident in the town of El Llano, in the city of Holguin.
"The person in charge had no relationship with the lady," stated from the Facebook page "Missing Within Cuba, We Are Your Voice."
On the other hand, the profile on the same social network Hunter-Hunted, associated with the Ministry of the Interior of Cuba, pointed out possible links between the victim and the perpetrator.
Both profiles agree that the name of the individual involved is Carlos Rodríguez Cruz, known as "El Burro".
The sources indicate that Rodríguez Cruz is known for his bad reputation within his community.
The mother of the person responsible apparently was the one who suggested to him to turn himself in to the police after receiving a call from him.
Yunaisy's murder adds to the nearly thirty women who have been killed so far in 2024, although feminist platforms have not yet included it in their statistics.
Last week, the gender-based violence observatories YoSíTeCreo en Cuba (YSTCC) and Alas Tensas (OGAT) corroborated three new cases of femicides in the country, between June 14 and 16, and reiterated their call to the authorities to carry out "preventive actions to preserve the lives of women and other individuals affected by femicidal violence."
Such is the case with the alerts issued for this type of actions, as recently, the Vladimir Ilich Lenin Provincial Hospital in Holguín had to issue a statement denying a femicide in one of its operating rooms, an incident reported by the Cuban Women's Network.
